In my second article, I would like to talk about how Dominicans want to make noise about everything that happens to them in life. They don’t need a reason to celebrate late at night. They also put mufflers in their cars and engines, which are very loud and annoying. On the other hand, religious cults offer their masses their horns to the maximum, causing many people to become enraged by the noise. I know that sound is essential, but we must know how to use it not to affect the environment. not all noises are good, and we must respect other people who may not want to hear the same thing. However, so much noise around us has made us pamper ourselves more with our phones. We prefer to listen to music on our headphones as street noise is very annoying. We have lost interest in nature or cannot rest properly due to the noise from our neighbors. Although we have laws that help us lead a peaceful life, some people do not comply. Some people still don’t understand how annoying loud music is. However, when we want to rest, we want to sleep no matter how beautiful the noise sounds.

At the beginning of the episode, Kruwoski says, “the marginal, the rejected, the repressed is what the powerful have decided is of no use at that time.” What Kruwoski wants to tell us by this question is that things in the world change as time passes. For example, music is currently digitized, and we can get it simply by clicking on the different applications. We already have music closer to homes like on phones, computers, and smart TVs. It is no longer necessary to go to a store to buy a CD to listen to music. However, Kruwoski also highlights that we forget other ways of interacting with music with these technological advances. Music indicates the difference between the powerful and the outcast in many ways. An example of this is that mainstream artists are given better opportunities, but lesser-known artists are denied opportunities to prosper.

The difference that Krukowski affirms between being surprised by the music is like listening to songs that we have not heard before. However, they can be songs that are good or even better than expected. However, when we discover music, it may be different than what we are used to hearing. These experiences give us different types of sensations. They can be feelings of satisfaction or pleasure. User experiences are of great importance for music platforms, as they can provide relative answers about the music that users are looking for.

Forced Exposures is different from other platforms because they create different experiences to identify users. Forced Exposure provides us with additional songs and artists that users can choose from. However, Spotify uses algorithms based on the music we have searched for. These algorithms create a list of music based on what we might like by giving us a more comprehensive range of unknown music.

1-In “living with music”, Ralph Ellison describes how hearing and listening was such a routine thing in his life and how this affected him in his apartment in New York. The noise was so annoying that he didn’t allow her to think clearly.
Ralph Ellison said that when he was little, he sang terribly and that the voice of his neighbor reminded him of that moment in his childhood. However, the music made him doubt since he couldn’t complain to the police.

2-In the first sentence, “In those days, it was to live with music or die with noise …”, that before music was to enjoy it and above all to relax. However, nowadays the music is very annoying as it is very noisy.

3-Damon and Ellison believe that there were different alternatives to block out annoying sounds. However, both stated that people are in their own space. Above all, they claimed that technology had come to create a more significant distraction. Today, we prefer to wear our headphones to avoid the noise around us.

1-Hearing is the demonstration of seeing sound and accepting sound waves or vibrations through your ear.
Listenings are the demonstration or hearing a sound and understanding what you hear. Listening prompts learning.
Hearing is an automatic demonstration where you get vibrations through your ears. Listening is an aptitude that lets the sound you hear experience your mind to deal with its importance. When we hear, we use only our ears and do not pay attention or analyze what is happening. However, when we listen, we pay attention and analyze what is being heard since we involve our brain.
For example: when walking on the streets, we can hear the cars, people talking, dogs barking, birds chirping, but that is just our surroundings. We don’t analyze what’s going on compared to the siren of an ambulance, a person calling our name, or a friend having a conversation with us.

2- According to Shafer and Krukowski, space and sound have a similarity. They believe that the sound and music that surrounds us are produced by emotion and often by noise. For Schafer, sound can come from the culture and environment that surrounds us. It can also reflect the things that happen to us and what we hear around us. Schafer also talks about the correct way to give an argument so that another person can understand. So well, it explains the clarity that our writing must have so that it is easy to interpret. However, Krukowski is based more on technology’s changing the relationship between space and sound. He explains that social interactions within space are becoming less accessible due to technology. The use of technology is causing us not to use our sensory systems, preventing us from enjoying the things surrounding us. With technology being part of our daily lives, it facilitates that all our time is consumed by it.

Berger presents some ideas about how publishers and newspapers reached out to “white people” readers. He claimed that the white press used images of black people as victims and not as people defending their rights. However, these photographs, far from demonstrating the skill of the blacks, only served to feed the ego of the whites. For the press, it was easier to expose blacks as victims, thus alleviating the racial anxiety of whites. I agree with Berger that it was easier for the press to harm blacks because whites oppressed them. These kinds of violent images gave whites the power to treat blacks however they wanted. However, blacks have stood out as people who have always fought for their rights. They have always wanted to be treated as part of society, not by their skin color.

1-According to John Beger, advertising is used to achieve higher sales and capture customers’ attention. We carry in our mind the images that advertising shows. We can even see them in our dreams. Advertising proposes that we change our lifestyle if we buy a product that we will not even use. We purchase the products only because the person presenting them had a transformation, and we want to have it too. Advertising does that if we buy the products they offer, we will change our lifestyle by obtaining them. Showing us happy people sends a message that we need that product to have a life-like these people.

2- According to John Berger, oil paintings began with events from the life of their owner. In these paintings, you can see the wealth or current achievements of its owner. However, this does not include how he obtained such wealth. They don’t offer anything. It just shows what they already have. However, advertising shows us the perfect life we want to have, persuading us to obtain their services or their products “since we can thus obtain a full life.”

3- John Berger spoke of three dreams, the one that caught my attention the most was “the dream from later tonight.” In this particular dream, advertising is shown with very colorful vivid images, emphasizing that everyone is smiling. All people enjoy the products that surround them, and above all, they are products that give off pleasure. These products can attract you in a way that can show that our way of life is glamorous.

In ancient times the nude was seen as a symbol of beauty and perfection. However, in the Renaissance, they were always based on biblical passages. At the Renaissance, the nude began to be seen as something sexual and not so beautiful. They also started to see women as sexual objects, and, above all, they began to notice the aesthetic part. In my opinion, women have a social burden with the stereotype of how a woman should see herself. I feel that this society tends to judge our appearance and our actions. Instead, the man should not be careful how he dresses or what he does. Also, we think about how the other person can see us or what they can say most of the time. In some cultures, women must cover themselves from head to toe. However, in others, it is normal for them to dress, showing part of her body. It’s like John Beger said; it all depends on how you look at things. What may be seen as usual to me for other people can be unpleasant.
Furthermore, today’s woman is no longer interested in how men can see her. Society has ensured that there is competition between women. In other words, they have created a stereotype of beauty in women where physical appearance matters more than intelligence. In social media and television, there is a “perfect” type of woman. These have to be curvy, have big buttocks, and especially dress very sexy. This topic is a bit controversial. There is no longer the submissive woman of those times who always followed the man. In these times, women are more independent.

1- According to Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein, all writers should use the “entering the conversation” method. We must know the importance of this writing model. This writing model allows us to get new and better ideas. It also enables us to have a better formality in a conversation. However, this writing model empowers a writer to be more organized when analyzing an idea. Therefore, you can offer better opinions and, above all, be more objective. The best thing about this method is that you can analyze the ideas of others, thus obtaining better results. Each person has a different way of interpreting, allowing us to see things from another point of view.

2- Although I don’t understand some people’s art, I agree with the Smarthistory video. Art is something exhilarating. I can spend hours finding the logic of a work of art, which keeps me energized. I began to ask myself questions about why his art is like this. What the artist could interpret in one way, perhaps for me, is interpreted in another way.
